PURE Co-op celebrates Member Service Awards
Petroleum Marketers recognized for 10-year and 15-year anniversaries

As the end of 2009 approached, the PURE Oil Jobbers Co-op, Inc. announced that several members had reached major milestones in their involvement – and investment – in the organization. Those members celebrating 10-year and 15-year anniversaries with the Co-op would be recognized at the yearend annual meeting in Nashville.

The PURE Oil Jobbers Cooperative, Inc. was founded on the principle of autonomy for its members, depending on the judgment, expertise, and involvement of each member to allow the organization to thrive, says Allen. Since Co-op membership requires only an initiation fee, a purchase of one share of stock, and a Co-op fee of 1/10 of 1 cent per gallon purchased, members have equal ownership in the organization.
The PURE Co-op was founded in 1993 by petroleum marketers and/or jobbers in the 10 Southern states of: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Beginning in 2008, the Co-op began to expand its marketing efforts to include potential members in the Midwest — where the PURE oil brand had originated — and Southwestern states as well. The Co-op owns the rights to the PURE name brand in all 50 states. Those additional states where the PURE Co-op is attempting to cultivate members include: Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan.
